"Can you remember all the excuses that came out for The Stone Roses and Elastica when it took them over five years to follow up their debut albums? As good as they are have you ever stopped and thought, why does it take Massive Attack longer and longer to record new albums, surely they just need to sit down and crack on?

If you’ve had those thoughts then I think I may well have found the perfect artist for you."

ZME Music Interview
Friday, 26 February 2010 01:00

ZME Music: I love the idea - I really do. What bugs me though is the thought of forcing creativity. It can work very well at first (I love your work so far), but in time, after fatigue, routine and creative blocks step in, it can lead to quality deficits. Thoughts?
Aidy: You’d only be forcing creativity if you weren’t a creative person in the first place, like I said before I’m an extremely creative individual and this actually isn’t a massive difference to my regular output. I’m always writing and recording new songs, the only difference is I’m probably spending a bit more time polishing things and getting them into a state where I’m happy to send them out into world each Friday.

Alt Sounds Review

The music is nice and sweet, the vocals are nice and sweet but the lyrics are filled with disappointment and bitterness and I love it.
Halfway between Eels and Randy Newman, Adrian Killens takes the soft music style and layers it with an uncharacteristic anger that creates a juxtaposition of style and content to create a collection of songs that are endearing, funny and thought provoking.

Shakenstir Review

"SELECTED DEMOS 2002-2009 is something of a revelation. ‘Prettyish’ opens the collection with a nicely strummed intro that winds its way through the whole song. Vocally, Aidy has a young, rather sweet voice. The song is strongly melodically and lyrically, while production is surprisingly good. A dark and reflective start to the album. ‘22′ is an altogether rockier affair with blanket electronic guitar riffs dominating with Aidy’s voice just managing to show through the dirty haze.
